A print of the painting made using acrylic paint, spray paint, and collage. ‘Fannana Sharkiya’ translates from Arabic to English as ‘Eastern Artist’. The word in Arabic for Artist can also be used for dancer or musician. I chose a historic dancer attire and style to paint to honour decades of the history, skill and beauty of belly dancing in SWANA (Southwest Asian and North African). Here the attire would have been typical of Egyptian dances around the 1980’s.
Available in one size 30.5cm x 30.5cm (12 × 12 inch)
